Aiming to stamp out illegal layouts and uphold building standards, the Kano Urban Planning and Development Authority (KNUPDA) has deployed a taskforce committee across various locations in the state.
Focused on streamlining urban development and ensuring compliance with building codes, the committee, chaired by KNUPDA’s Director of Urban Planning, TPL Junaidu Abdullahi, recently engaged stakeholders during site visits across Kano State.
Emphasizing the need for adherence to regulations, the committee highlighted the safety and aesthetic benefits of compliance while addressing challenges posed by unauthorized constructions and encroachments on public spaces.
Residents and business owners have welcomed KNUPDA’s initiative under leadership or Arc. Ibrahim Yakubu, recognizing the importance of maintaining an organized urban environment and mitigating risks associated with substandard construction practices.
With a commitment to collaboration and enforcement, Arc. Ibrahim Yakubu aims to reclaim public assets and foster responsible urban growth while working closely with local authorities, community leaders, and stakeholders to achieve its objectives.
Anticipating significant strides in urban planning and regulatory compliance, Kano State looks forward to enhanced infrastructure and a conducive environment for residents and businesses under KNUPDA’s guidance.
