ADUSTECH Urges Student Union Leaders to Uphold Ethical Standards, Prioritize Education

Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology (ADUSTECH) Wudil has urged its students to cooperate with University Management to promote ethical standard that will foster academic discipline.

The Dean Students Affairs of the University, Professor Abdulkadir Muhammad, made the call during the seminar session organized for students union leaders on politics, ethics, accountability, and leadership for students.

Professor Abdulkadir, represented by Muftahu Ringim, said it is important for the student union leaders to avail themselves with the necessary tools that will help in achieving the essence of unionism.

He added that the peaceful coexistence and stability of the university should not be left in the hands of Management alone, but also university students.

“As future leaders of society, it is imperative to uphold principles of integrity, accountability, and ethical conduct.

This seminar will serve as a platform for you to enhance your leadership skills and added to your deep sense of responsibility,” he stated.

The seminar also featured panel discussion from veteran student unionists, including Comrade Dr. Umar Shehu Umar, Comrade Sanusi Danjuma Sanusi, Comrade Munneerah Ishaq Sani and Comrade Muhammad Yusuf Muhammad, who shared insights from their own experiences and offered guidance on navigating the intersection of politics, ethics, and leadership.

Comrade Adamu Habibu Ado, President of the Students’ Union Government, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to participate in the seminar. “This event has provided me and other unionists on campus with invaluable knowledge and perspectives on the ethical dimensions of leadership. I am inspired to lead with integrity and ensure accountability within my association,” he remarked.

Interactive during the sessions was led by esteemed faculty members including Comrade Prof. Yusuf Bala Daraja, Comrade Prof. Murtala Muhammad and Comrade Ismail Hussaini discussed History and Development of Trade Unionism; Politics and Political Leadership; Human Resource Management and Association’s Finance and Management, and the role of effective leadership in driving positive change.

The students’ affairs unit of the university promised that students in the institution are given fair treatment in all spheres.
