The entire Country is presently plugged in total darkness as the national power grid faces another round of total collapse.
It was gathered that the managed electricity grid under the Transmission Company of Nigeria TCM went down on Sunday, reducing the frigidity of the system’s capacity from 2,407 megawatts to a near zero value, a ridiculous height yet again.
The impact of the power failure is currently hitting hard on businesses in Kano, Kaduna, and neighboring states.
Meanwhile, the Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company has alerted electricity customers across its franchise states of the current power outages.
The Kaduna DisCo franchise states include Kaduna, Sokoto, Zamfara, and Kebbi.
A statement by the Kaduna DisCo Head of Corporate Communications, Abdulazeez Abdullahi, on Sunday confirmed the development, adding that the company has lost its entire bulk power supply.
Although, the DisCo assured of immediate restoration of supply as soon as the grid is fixed, businesses and services across the affected States are presenting losing millions of naira.
In the statement, “The Management of Kaduna Electric wishes to inform its esteemed customers that it has lost bulk power supply hence the outage being experienced currently in Kaduna, Sokoto, Zamfara and Kebbi states.
“Power supply shall be restored to our customers as soon as we receive same at load centers across our franchise. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience,” the statement read.
Despite the total outage in Kano, the DisCo in charge of the state and other franchises is yet to keep its customers abreast of the unfortunate development.
