Unofficial result of rerun election in 10 polling units under Kunchi local government area of Kano state has emerged despite a reported invasion and hijack of electoral materials in the area.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the early hours of Saturday said the ongoing rerun/bye-elections have witnessed disruptions and hijacking of materials in some locations in Akwa Ibom, Kano and Enugu states.

INEC in a post on it’s verified X handle specifically said in Kano, the disruption affected “Kunchi/Tsanyawa State Constituency of Kano State and processes have been disrupted in Kunchi Local Government Area involving 10 Polling Units”.

According to INEC, “Generally, polls opened promptly and accreditation going on smoothly in the 8,934 Polling Units in 26 States involved in today’s bye-elections and re-run elections”.

However, an election result posted by an agent of one of the political parties on social media indicated the final outcome and winner in the 10 polling units.

In the results, NNPP scored 4,795 votes, APC had 38 votes leaving PDP with 12 votes.
