Ahead of expiration of deadline stipulated for 2024 Hajj registration, the Rivers State Government has announced payment of all seats allocated to the oil rich state.
The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has extended the registration of intending pilgrims for this year’s pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia to end of January to enable intending pilgrims deposit the initial N4.5 million fare.
The Sole Administrator of Rivers State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board Alh. Abdulrrazaq Diepriye made the disclosure on Wednesday at the ongoing meeting between NAHCON and States Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Boards in Abuja.

Alh. Diepriye told the forum that Governor Siminalayi Fubara has magnanimously prioritize payment of Rivers allocation ahead of expiration of the deadline to enable Muslims in Rivers the privilege.
The Hajj reporters reports that Alh. Diepriye’s announcement at the meeting was greeted with rousing applause from participants who would not resist appreciating Governor Fubara’s rare gesture and prayers for the Rivers government.
Although, Rivers state is allocated 34 seats, it was gathered the Governor may not hesitate to request for more allocation due to low response on hajj registration in the zone.
The outcome of the ongoing meeting at the hajj house, Abuja will determine whether or not NAHCON would extend the January 31 deadline. Stakeholders are equally waiting anxiously for the outcome of the stakeholders meeting for announcement of final fare.
