Kano Elders Council to be established in the state, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf said.
Gov. Yusuf announced this in Abuja on Saturday while addressing journalists in Abuja.
According to the governor, the council would serve as an advisory body to the administration.

Reports says that members of the council include past governors and deputies, past speakers and deputies, past Senate President and deputy (If any), retired chief judges, retired CJN (If any), retired Supreme Court Justices, retired Appeal Court justices and Islamic leaders, among others.
With this, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, Ibrahim Shekarau, and Abdullahi Umar Ganduje are automatically members of the council.
The governor reiterated his commitment to continue running an open government to carry everyone along, in the new drive of a modern Kano.
