The Provost of the college represented by his Deputy Dr. Bashir Barau, said the welfare package is targeted at helping those in need, considering the cost of food items in the market.
Dr. Bashir Barau added that the measure will no doubt improve the level of food security among the staff of FCAPT.
“3 metric tons of rice were distributed worth over five million, and all categories of staff, academics, non-academics and cleaners that are on casual appointment benefited from the initiative which we hope will reduce the sufferings our people are experiencing”, Dr. Bashir Barau.
Speaking earlier, The Chairman of the distribution committee, Ibrahim Danladi Abdullahi, said the exercise will be a continuous one as the college has been doing such before to support it’s employees.
“As we can all witnessed today, the palliatives are very much available. And it’s part of the current management decision to cushion the effects of price hike on the staff of the college, which needs to be commended for this laudable effort, Chairman distribution committee”.
The staff of the college praised the initiative under the leadership of their Provost, Dr. Muhammad Yusha’u Gwaram, which cut across all categories of employees in the college.
This is because of the Provost’s confidence in us and his will and zeal to see that every member of staff benefits from these palliatives.
