The Birnin Kudu Old Boys Associations (BIKOBA), has vowed to restore the lost glory of the premier Government Unity College, Birnin Kudu.
Former Governor of Kano State Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, stated this today during the Annual General Meeting of BIKOBA held today in Kano.
Ganduje noted that it is clear that the premier college that was established before the creation of old Kano State graduated many famous individuals that contributed to the development of the country.

Dr. represented by former Secretary to the Kano State Government, Alhaji Usman Alhaji, Wazirin Gaya says that giving priority to the college is something that every member of BIKOBA is supposed to give his contribution to the developing the Alma mater.
In his remarks, chairman of the occasion, Malam Ibrahim Galadima, said that the association has embarked on bringing onboard the younger members who will make the association vibrant as they have the energy to carry-on with the activities.
Galadima, urged the participation of individual members and other class chapters of the association in maintaining the quality of education at Government College Birnin Kudu.
In his presidential address, Alhaji Ja’afar Usman Muhammad commended the effort of the individual members and other class chapters for the unwavering commitment and support towards the achievement recorded in 2023.
Alhaji Ja’afar Usman Muhammad, who is the Turaki of Gaya Emirate, says the essence of the occasion is to give members the chance to reunite as well to discuss the aspect of helping one another.
“Alhamdulillah, last year this similar accessed the situation of our school in Birnin Kudu, which we have given our possible best to compliment the effort of Jigawa State Government in improving the teaching and learning environment thereby maintaining the quality of education.
“We supplied a variety of items to the college during our last AGM, which, the overall best class chapter, 1973 during its 50th anniversary, supplied many of the teaching aids that are needed, amounting to a million.
Also, former Governor of Kano State, Dr. Ganduje, who is the chairman of the board of trustees of BIKOBA, donated an eighteen sitter bus to the association which solves the executive’s transportation problem”, Alhaji Ja’afar Usman Muhammad stated.
The Turaki of Gaya prayed to the deceased members of the association that passed away in 2023, Allah (S.W.T) in his infinite mercy forgive their shortcomings and grant them Jannatul Firdaus.
The occasion was attended by many dignitaries, traditional rulers among other members.
Recalled that Government College Birnin Kudu is a secondary school in Birnin Kudu, Jigawa State. Founded as a middle school in 1947 by the regional Government, with notable alumni from the northern part of the country.
