The Centre for Information Technology and Development (CITAD) has partnered with ActionAid Nigeria to renovate a primary school in Leleyi, situated in the Bassa Kwali Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
Mrs. Yesmin Salako, the CITAD Program Officer at the Abuja Office, highlighted that the renovation, under CITAD/Action Aid Nigeria Local Rights Programme, aims to ensure that students not only have access to a conducive and secure learning space but also benefit from improved educational resources.
She added that the primary objective of the program is to enhance the learning environment and upgrade the infrastructure of the primary school. While speaking, ActionAid Nigeria Manager Mr. Kehinde Arowosegbe said the school is dilapidated, with no classrooms, blackboards, and almost 100 students sitting on the ground. “ActionAid Nigeria supported CITAD in renovating these classrooms, providing a much-needed upgrade for the learning environment.”
He also added that the collaborative effort between CITAD and ActionAid Nigeria underscores their joint commitment to promoting quality education and empowering children within the Leleyi community in the Bassa Kwali Area Council.
