It’s another accolade, a triumphant and great performance by Kano state Amputee Football team in the ongoing 2nd National Para Athletic games 2023 in Abuja, as the team swooped all the awards by emerging champions of this year edition after beating Kwara Team by 3-0 in a final match.
The latter team, who have been a thorn in the flesh of the Kano team by beating them twice two years ago in 2020, at the maiden edition of the tourney, was put into swords by the goals of Isah Yusuf, Malam Hotoro and Abba Musa.
In their sojourn to glory, the Pyramid City pride beat Plateau team 5-1 and the same score as Sokoto state, they beat the Kaduna team by 4 goals to nothing and beat Lagos state narrowly by 2-1 to set up an epic final clash against the giant Kwara Team which they emerged victorious over them.

It’s not yet over for the Kano team despite all the paucity of funds from the state copper to support the whole state contingent, as the team midfielder Isah Muhammad was voted the most valuable player of the tournament.
The team also won the prize of having the best keeper of the tournament, Yakubu Muhammad, who conceded only two goals throughout the tournament, and the gaffer of the team, Coach El Ahmad Muhammad, was voted as the overall best coach of the competition.
Coach El Ahmad Muhammad, who was voted as the best coach, was crowned with another glory as the gaffer was called and was appointed as assistant coach of the National Para Football team, with immediate effect as conveyed in a letter by the federation signed by NAFF President Paul Maduakor, and it’s secretary general Nonye Nwose.
In what was to be a consolation for the runners of team Kwara United, Micheal Joel from the side won a Golden Boot by being the tournament’s top scorer with four goals.
