The Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology (formerly KUST) Wudil, has clarified that the current delay in re-opening its registration portals to students was due to the preparation of the academic calendar for the next session by the Senate of the University.
The clarification was made on Tuesday by the varsity’s Public Relations Officer (PRO) Sabo Nayaya in an exclusive interview with Daily News 24.
However, Mr Nayaya also revealed that the university’s Senate has already prepared and released the academic calendar for the next session, adding that studies are expected to commence immediately.

“You know, the Senate of the university has been working to prepare the academic calendar for the next session. This is why students could not access the registration portal.
“But the Senate has already completed and released the calendar. We wish to inform our students that academic activities will resume with immediate effect,” the PRO said.
Mr Nayaya was reacting to speculations that the university denied access to the student’s registration portal over the reduction of the varsity’s tuition fees to 50 percent by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.
He dismissed the speculations.
Some students of the Dangote university who also spoke to our correspondent confirmed that the institution’s registration portal had not re-opened, though they said officials did not give any reason.
But one of the students, said part of the portal has been opened for fresh students to pay their admission acceptance fee of N10,000.
“For us returning students, the portal is still closed but we are expecting the authorities to re-open it soon,” he said.
He added that the institution’s officials did not make any comment regarding the amount they are expected to pay for the new session.
Another returning student, said the closure of the registration portal might be connected to the release of results for the last semester.
“Our results for the last semester are being released. I think this is why the school’s officials put the registration on hold because they can’t begin registration while results are being released,” he said.
“The results are being released department by department. We have seen the results from our department today (Tuesday) and there still more departments that have not released their results”.
