The Nigeria Super Eagles struggled to earn a 1-1 draw with Zimbabwe in the FIFA World Cup qualifying match played in Zimbabwe on Sunday afternoon.

The match, which makes two consecutive draws for the Nigeria team, saw Peseiro ringing five changes into the starting line up with Bruno Onyemeachi, Ola Aina, Nathan Tella, Terrim Moffi and Moses Simon introduced.

The Eagles yet found themselves trailing in the first half due to a thunderous free-kick from Walter Musona in the 26th minute, beating Francis Uzoho in goal for Nigeria.

After a lackluster first half, the Eagles intensified their efforts, putting Zimbabwe on the defensive.

Substitute Kelechi Iheanacho managed to level the score in the 67th minute with a well-executed curler, assisted by Joe Aribo.

Despite making several attempts to secure a victory, the Super Eagles were unable to break through the Zimbabwean defense, resulting in a draw at the neutral ground.

This outcome places the Super Eagles in the 2nd position in the group, complicating their chances of topping the group and securing an automatic ticket to the 2026 World Cup, especially with two consecutive draws in their initial matches in the group.
