Kano State Chief Judge, Justice Dije Abdu Aboki has set up a performance and evaluation committee that will assess Magistrates’ performance quarterly.
‘Good Evening Nigeria‘ reports that the initiative is to ensure good administration of justice in the state.
Justice Aboki disclosed this at a meeting with magistrates at the Conference hall of the High Court of Justice.

This was contained in a statement issued on Monday by Baba Jibo Ibrahim, Spokesman Kano state judiciary.
She said magistracy is closer to the people at the grass root therefore magistrates should exhibit a high sense of commitment to the adherence and protection of the rule of Law.
Justice Dije Aboki urged the magistrates to refrain from taking cases that are not assigned to them from the directing authorities, as it is a flagrant abuse of office and attracts serious disciplinary action.

She further called on them to take full control of their Courts and supervise their registries to minimize incidences of common infractions such as cases without dates and others.
