The lead of Governor Duoye Diri of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Bayelsa State Governorship Election, which stood at over 60,000 during the suspension of collation on Sunday night, has now decreased to 58,577 after the inclusion of Brass Local Government Area results.
The result from Brass LGA, the political base of Timipre Sylva, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), played a significant role in reducing the margin.

Timipre Sylva garnered 18,431 votes, while Governor Diri trailed with 12,602 votes.
With this development, Governor Diri’s total votes now stand at 150,511, while Timipre Sylva has accumulated 91,934 votes, leaving a margin of 58,577 votes.
As it stands, Governor Diri has secured victories in five LGAs, while Timipre Sylva has claimed victories in two.
The outcome of Southern Ijaw LGA is eagerly anticipated as the electoral process unfolds.
