Governor Hope Uzodimma of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has secured victories in 17 out of the 27 local government areas whose results have been announced in the Imo State governorship poll conducted on November 11, 2023.
The collation of results commenced at the State Collation Centre in Owerri around 02:30 am on Sunday, with the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) Returning Officer for the election, Prof Abayomi Fashina, overseeing the process.
While 18 political parties participated in the election, analysts have characterized this year’s governorship race in Imo State as a four-horse competition.

Governor Hope Uzodimma of the APC, seeking re-election, faces opposition from Samuel Anyanwu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Achonu Nneji of the Labour Party, and Jack Ogunewe of the Action Alliance.
As of the latest report at 06:13 am, none of the other candidates has secured victories in any local government. The collation of results is still underway.
