Media personality, Ifedayo Olarinde, popularly known as Daddy Freeze, has opened up about the circumstances that led to his decision to stop attending church after his divorce.
In a recent episode of the Teju Babyface Deep Dive podcast, Daddy Freeze said he stopped going to church after his pastor relegated him to the back row due to his divorce.
The On-Air Personality (OAP) said that before his divorce, he was an active church worker, deeply involved in organizing the church’s events. However, he was swiftly expelled from his roles within the church following his divorce.
He said the change in treatment led him to question the church’s stance on divorce and its impact on one’s relationship with God.

Daddy Freeze reflected, “My marriage had always been troubled, and in 2014, it came to an end. I used to organize events for the church and was paid for it. At least, the pastor wasn’t taking all the money; he shared it with those involved.”
“I was booked for an event I used to do for the church, and I received a call advising me to cancel it due to my divorce or pending divorce drama. I questioned, ‘Does my divorce erase my connection with God?’ Then, the pastor visited my house, telling me, ‘I’m not telling you not to come to church, but when you do, sit at the back.’ I thought, ‘What is all this?’ So, I chose to stay home on Sundays. Rather than attending church and hiding, I figured it was better to stay home.”
