The Kogi State government has directed all primary, secondary, and tertiary institutions of learning to observe a three-day holiday in preparation for the forthcoming gubernatorial election in the state.
In a statement signed by the Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology, Hon. Wemi Jones, all schools will be closed from Friday, 10th to Tuesday, 14th of November.
Normal academic activities are expected to resume on Wednesday, 15th November.

According to the statement, the period is allowed for preparation for the conduct of gubernatorial elections in the state.
The statement wished all a peaceful election, while assuring of the government’s readiness to provide a secure and conducive environment for the conduct of the poll.
