A seven-year-old boy identified as Abdul-Hayi was recovered lifeless from a domestic well in Kwara state.
Abdul-Hayi was reportedly fetching water around 5:30 pm on Monday when he tragically slipped and fell into the well.
The incident occurred in Yaa-Lateef compound, Tinu street, Akerebiata, Ilorin East Local Government Area.
GOOD EVENING NIGERIA learnt that the Kwara State Fire Service received an alert about the incident through a phone call from a resident named Mr. Idowu.
The Head of Department, Media and Publicity, Kwara State Fire Service, Hassan Hakeem Adekunle, who confirmed the incident on Tuesday, said firemen recovered the dead body from the well and later handed it over to one Mr Yussuf, a family member of the deceased.

He said deceased child was later handed over to a family member, Mr. Yussuf.
He said that the State Director of Fire Service, Prince Falade John Olumuyiwa, expressed sadness over the incident.
“He urged the general public to be more careful in their day-to-day activities. Olumuyiwa also charged them to desist from sending underaged children to fetch water in a domestic well,” he added.
