President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of Mr. Ola Olukoyede as the Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Presidential spokesman Chief Ajuri Ngelale made the announcement in a statement on Thursday, stating that the appointment spans an initial renewable term of four years, pending Senate confirmation.
Ola Olukoyede hails from Ekiti State and he is a pastor at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).

The pastor was rumour to succeed Ibrahim Magu as EFCC chairman in 2020, after the later was suspended by President Muhammadu Buhari due to investigation into corruption and misconduct allegation. However, Olukoyede, was deprived of the chairmanship, reportedly because of his little experience as operative officer, a role he since then has excelled.
Mr. Ola Olukoyede is a lawyer with over twenty-two (22) years of experience as a regulatory compliance consultant and specialist in fraud management and corporate intelligence. He has extensive experience in the operations of the EFCC, having previously served as Chief of Staff to the Executive Chairman (2016-2018) and Secretary to the Commission (2018-2023).

A seasoned and erudite lawyer with several years of experience at the Bar, Olukoyede is a regulatory compliance consultant, who specialises in compliance management, corporate intelligence and fraud management. He is a certified fraud examiner who has led and managed investigation and civil litigation of fraud and financial crimes in International development project.
He is a widely traveled scholar who has attended a number of training programmes within and outside of Nigeria, focusing on fraud and corruption investigation. He also specialises in Anti-Corruption Research and Analysis, Corporate and Business Intelligence Gathering and Process.
