In an unexpected turn of events, residents of Birnin Magaji in Zamfara State have taken matters into their own hands by abducting family members of bandits as a response to a recent kidnapping incident in the area.
According to a local youth leader, as reported by PRNigeria, the bandits had targeted members of the community while they were working on their farms. The armed bandits threatened the farmers and subsequently abducted them.
Apparently, frustrated by the endless taxation, beating, kidnapping and other forms of harassment from the gunmen who have turned the once peaceful state into a terror axis, some youths in the village decided to bare their own fangs at the bandits.

In a retaliation, youths in the community intercepted wives of the bandits including a pregnant woman who were on transit.
It was further gathered that a negotiation is ongoing between the community leaders and bandits’ kingpins towards resolving the stalemate.
