Governor Babagana Umara Zulum of Borno State has instructed the renovation of Biu Specialist Hospital and approved the recruitment of 5 medical doctors and 20 nurses for the facility.
Governor Zulum, who is known for his impromptu nocturnal hospital visits, gave the directive during a late-night visit to the hospital on Monday
Governor Zulum mostly pays unscheduled late-night visits to hospitals in order to assess functionality and approve interventions where necessary.

Prior to his Biu visit, Governor Zulum spent Sunday in Damboa, the administrative center of Damboa Local Government. There, he engaged in coordinating humanitarian efforts and spent the night.
During his time in Damboa, the governor oversaw the distribution of food palliatives to more than 18,000 families.
