President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed the Federal Executive Council (FEC) to focus on achieving specific targets aimed at revitalizing the economy and improving the quality of life for the citizens.
The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, presented a “Roadmap for the economy,” which was discussed during the inaugural federal cabinet meeting chaired by the president at the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Addressing the matter during the post-FEC press briefing, Minister Edun said that the council collectively acknowledged that the economy had not yet reached its desired level of performance.
He said FEC has examined eight priority areas and identified targets to deliver in the next three years.

According to Minister Edun, President Tinubu had charged the ministers to roll out policies and programmes to turn around the economy.
Meanwhile, President Bola Tinubu at the meeting tasked the new cabinet ministers to hit the ground running by working hard to turn around the fortunes of the country.
“We have talents; we have the level of intellectuals and capacity to turn this country around. You and I know that the expectation is high. Therefore we must work hard, commit ourselves and create a buoyant economy that will serve every Nigerian.
“Every one of you is a member of this team, we can do whatever we want from our areas of responsibility but it all depends on you. If you stay focused, we will all arrive at a better destination and the country will be better for it,” he said.
