In a recent development, the Lagos State House of Assembly has declined to approve 17 out of the 39 commissioner-nominees presented by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
Sources reveal that the legislators, who had expressed dissatisfaction with the list upon its initial submission a few weeks ago, have endorsed 22 of the nominated candidates.
Among the nominees met with rejection by the assembly are former Commissioner for Health, Prof Akin Abayomi, and former Commissioner for Information & Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso.
