President Bola Tinubu has been urged to allocate the slot of the Minister of Youths to persons from the South-West zone with tract records of participation in youths activities across the country.
The call was made in a letter to the president by the APC South-West Young Stakeholders Forum on Wednesday and signed by its chairman, Lanre Oyegbola-Sodipo and co-Chairman, Babajide Akeredolu in Abuja.
Recall that Tinubu at last ditch, reassigned Mr Abubakar Momoh, who was previously assigned to youth minister portfolio, to Ministry of Niger Delta, leaving the former vacant.

A statement from the presidency on Sunday said Tinubu approved the redeployment of Momoh from the Ministry of Youth to the Ministry of Niger Delta Development, adding that the Ministry of Youth would be reassigned to a minister-designate soon.
The forum suggested 12 persons from the region that should be considered by the president for the position.
The 12 persons suggested are: Makinde Araoye, Seun Olufemi-White, Seyi Tinubu, Ayodele Olawande, Bolaji Afeez Repete, and Prince Oyekunle Oyewumi.
Others are: Titilope Ayoka Gbadamosi and Ademola Adeyeye, Abdullahi Dayo Israel, Bayo Adenekan, Prince Dapo Abiodun and Dr Seriki Muritala.
The group said while Lagos and Ogun states already have two and three ministers respectively, they consider those from other states of the South-West zone more suitable for the ministerial position.
The group said with the separation of the youth and sports ministries, the new minister would be tasked with building a ministry that would focus solely on young people.

“The minister will also be expected to manage the strong desires of the youth demography and ensure that the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu caters effectively to youth agitations,” the group said.
