President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is currently engaged in discussions with key stakeholders in a bid to ease the political turmoil in Niger Republic.
In his role as the Chairman of the Authority of the Heads of State and Government of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), President Tinubu has convened a meeting to address the unfolding situation.
Present at the ongoing meeting are Dr. Omar Touray, the President of the ECOWAS Commission; General Abdulsalami Abubakar, leader of the ECOWAS delegation to Niger Republic’s military junta; and Malam Nuhu Ribadu, the National Security Adviser (NSA) to the President.
While the media has not been provided with an official statement regarding the discussion’s agenda, an undisclosed source has indicated that the meeting is centered around preventing armed conflict in response to the crisis unfolding in Niger Republic.
