Three unemployed men, were on Tuesday docked in a Kado Grade 1 Area Court, in Abuja, for allegedly stealing electrical wires worth N946, 000.
The police charged Abdullahi Yusuf, 33, Dauda Abubakar, 29, and Muktar Abdulhamid, 31, all of Mabushi Abuja, with criminal conspiracy and theft.
The defendants however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Prosecution Counsel, Mr Stanley Nwafoaku, told the court that on Aug.15, at about 12:05 p.m, Mr Nnabuike Mba of Mabushi Abuja, reported the matter at Mabushi Police Station.

Nwafoaku alleged that, on the said date, the complainant visited his building site at Mabushi and discovered that the electrical wires at the site have been stolen.
He alleged that the defendants, who are security guards at the building site, criminally conspired together and stole the electric wires worth N946, 000.
The Police Prosecutor told the court that, the three defendants absconded to an unknown destination until they were apprehended by the police.
Nwafoaku alleged that during police investigation the defendants admitted to the crime.
He said that the offence contravened sections 97 and 288 of the penal code law.

The Presiding Judge, Muhammed Wakili, admitted the defendants to bail in the sum of N500, 000 and one surety each in like sum.
Wakili ordered that the sureties must be resident within the jurisdiction of the court with a fixed address and means of livelihood.
He adjourned the matter until Sept. 5, for hearing.
