In a bid to seek a peaceful resolution to the ongoing political impasse in neighboring Niger Republic, Katsina State organized a prayer session on Thursday.
The event, held at the Peoples Square within the Government House premises, aimed to invoke divine intervention for harmony and tranquility in the region.
The two-hour prayer session commenced at 11 AM and drew a gathering of government officials and Islamic clerics, who recited Holy Quran at the two-hour prayer session.
Notable attendees included Governor Dikko Radda, Deputy Governor Alhaji Faruq Jobe, and the Secretary to the Government of the state, Alhaji Abdullahi Faskari.
Radda, in his remarks at the session, urged all Nigerians to pray for the amicable resolution of the crisis in the Niger Republic.

He also urged for full support for President Bola Tinubu and ECOWAS as they move to resolve the crisis.
The governor declared, “What we have been doing here this morning is to pray to the Almighty Allah to see to the peaceful and amicable resolution of the crisis in the Niger Republic.
” We are also calling on Allah to bring peace to our state and help us tackle banditry and other crimes.
“I urge us all to go back home and render full support for President Bola Tinubu and ECOWAS in seeing to the amicable resolution of the crisis in Niger Republic.”
The governor noted that President Tinubu was working very hard to alleviate the hardships brought on poor Nigerians by the fuel subsidy removal.
He added that the state was ready to provide palliatives for “the poorest of the poor “in the state to alleviate the hardships brought on them by the fuel subsidy removal.

“Our palliatives would get to the poorest of the poor in the state wherever they are”, he promised.
Radda also told the gathering that he would not negotiate with terrorists but instead tackle them this year.
He enjoined residents to volunteer credible information on the terrorists and other criminals to the security agencies in the state, assuring them of protection of the identity of whoever volunteered such information.
The Secretary to the Government of the State Alhaji Faskari, in his remarks, enjoined residents to give credible information on criminals to the security agencies with a view to tackling crimes in the state.
He said, “His Excellency has nailed it on the head by urging people to come out with credible information on criminals. We need the support and collaboration of people in order to tackle crime in the state.
