Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, the newly appointed National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), is set to preside over his inaugural National Working Committee (NWC) meeting on Tuesday. This marks his first official engagement since assuming leadership of the party.
Ganduje’s elevation to the role of national chairman was formally endorsed during the 12th National Executive Committee meeting of the APC, which took place at the Transcorp Hilton in Abuja a mere two days ago.
During the same NEC meeting, Senator Ajibola Basiru, the spokesperson for the ninth Senate, was ratified as the new National Secretary of the APC.

A senior member of the party, who spoke anonymously to a Punch correspondent, revealed that the 73-year-old veteran politician from Kano State would chair the NWC meeting at the party’s national headquarters on Tuesday.
The source mentioned, “We are having an NWC meeting on Tuesday. It will be Ganduje’s first official meeting. I am sure it is an effort on his part to get familiar with the committee members in a more relaxed atmosphere following the stress of the NEC meeting that approved his appointment. Basiru has also promised to make himself available for the meeting.”
When questioned about the expected agenda for the meeting, the party insider highlighted that the primary focus would be on appointing officials to fill the vacant positions within the NWC.
