Maryam Shettima has been appointed as Special Adviser to the President Bola Tinubu onCulture and Entertainment, a day after she was removed and replaced from the list ministerial nominees by the President.
This was disclosed by the Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Akinsola Akin, in a post on X social media platform.
GOOD EVENING NIGERIAreports that Maryam Shettima, popularly known as Shetty yesterday, heard the news of her abrupt removal from the ministerial nominees list, while she was waiting at the National Assembly for her screening.
She was replaced with Mariya Mahmoud Bunkure, former Kano State Commissioner for Higher Education, who also happens to be Shetty’s former classmate.
Earlier on Saturday, Shetty in a statement said she accepted the removal as God’s will. She regardless thanked President Tinubu and Vice President Shettima for seeing value in her to be nominated in the first place.
Akinsola, congratulating Shetty posted her picture on X and wrote, “CONGRATULATIONS Shetty, Special adviser to the president on Culture and Entertainment.”
