National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), has called on interested Pupils and Students in Primary, Secondary and Tertiary institutions across the Federation to participate in an essay writing, poetry or artwork competition.
GOOD EVENING NIGERIA reports that NIMC is an agency under Federal Ministry of Communication and Digital Economy.
In a statement signed by the Director General of NIMC, Aliyu Aziz, participants are required to write an essay on the theme “The Importance of Identity to Me, You and All” or “What Identity Means to Me.”
Interested participant are also expected to submit before the deadline of 4:00PM Friday 18th August, 2023.
The statement reads, “in Commemoration of the 5th Identity Day, themed “Identity Concerns All, and It Is for All” the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) calls on interested Pupils and Students in Primary, Secondary and Tertiary institutions across the Federation to participate in an essay writing, poetry or artwork competition, expressing
“Primary school participants in the essay writing category are expected to submit not more than 250 words, while Secondary school essay writing should not exceed 1000 words and Tertiary essay writing should not exceed 2000 words. Poetry should not exceed 1(one) page for all categories while painting should be in A4 or A3 sizes.

“Essay and poetry submissions should be sent via email to idday2023@nime.gov.ng while all artwork submissions should be submitted in person or via a representative at the following NIMC offices:
1. North Central: No 1 Habibu Shuaibu Road, off Federal Secretariat Complex, Minna, Niger State.
2. North East: Buba shongo Quarters, Opposite CBN, Ashaka Road, Gombe State.
3. North West: No 1 Bayajida Road, off Yahaya Road, Behind Federal Training Center, Malali Kaduna State.
4. South East: Nigerian Immigration Service, Enugu State Command, EnuguAbakaliki Express way, Enugu State.
5. South South: No 238 Aba Road, Portharcourt, Rivers State.
6. South West: Beside Adegoke House, lyana Express, New Garage, Ibadan, Oyo State.
7. Kano State: Taludu by FCE Junction, BUK Road, Kano State.
8. Lagos State: Plot 1B, Obafemi Awolowo way, Alausa Ikeja, Lagos State.
9. Federal Capital Territory (FCT): The National identity Management Commission, 11 Sokode Cresecent, off Dalaba Street, Wuse Zone 5, Abuja.
