An old video of former Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, is currently making rounds on social media after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu released a ministerial list featuring 28 nominees, including Wike.
In the trending video, Wike categorically stated that he had no plans to become a minister after his tenure as governor.
He confidently expressed, “Only one person can be a minister from a state; I will not be a minister. I will not. I am not a liability; Rivers State is an asset. So if you don’t want to win an election, it’s your business. I’m not the one running the election. He who wears the shoes knows where it pinches him.”
GOOD EVENING NIGERIAreports that the recent release of Tinubu’s ministerial list included Wike, along with three other former governors and 24 other nominees.
The list was read out by the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, during a plenary session.
As the video continues to circulate, it has sparked conversations and reactions among Nigerians, drawing attention to Wike’s previous stance on not pursuing a ministerial role and the unexpected turn of events with his inclusion in the list.
