Joy Bishara, one of the schoolgirls who escaped from the Boko Haram invasion at Government Secondary School, Chibok, Borno State in 2014, has recently announced her engagement in the United States, according to a Daily Trust report.
Good Evening Nigeria recalls that a total of 276 female students aged 16 to 18 were kidnapped by Boko Haram from the Government Girls Secondary School in Chibok, Borno State, Nigeria.
Out of those abducted, 57 girls managed to escape by jumping from the trucks used to transport them. Some others were later rescued by the Nigerian Armed Forces, but regrettably, over 100 girls are still missing.
Bishara was among the 57 that escaped captivity by jumping off the truck while they were being carted away by the kidnappers.

She later relocated to US and graduated from Southeastern University, where she obtained a degree in social work in 2021.
