The Kano State Ministry of Education has announced that a significant number of junior secondary school (JSS3) students, totaling over 150,000, are poised to participate in the upcoming Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), slated to start tomorrow.

This is made known in a press release made available by Ameen K. Yassar, the Director of Public Enlightenment, at the state Ministry of Education.

The Basic Education Certificate Examination is the main examination to qualify students for admission into secondary and vocational schools in Nigeria.

According to the press release, the BECE will cover 12 subjects, including essay writing, objectives, and practical assessments.

These examinations will take place in not less than 1,500 public and private secondary schools across the state.

To ensure a smooth examination process, the Zonal Directors of the State Ministry of Education have been directed to collect question and answer sheets from the Kano Educational Resource Department (KERD) for distribution to schools in their respective areas of jurisdiction.

Officials from the Ministry of Education are urging all concerned students to report promptly for the examinations and avoid any form of malpractice.

The Ministry is determined to ensure that the BECE is conducted without any hitches, with a strong emphasis on maximum success.

To maintain credibility, officials from the Federal Ministry of Education will supervise the examinations.

The state Commissioner of Education, Alh. Umar Haruna Doguwa, has also encouraged prospective students to face the examination with optimism and strive for excellent grades, highlighting the government’s investment in their education.
