Fulham Football Club is eyeing the acquisition of Ajax center-back, Calvin Bassey, in a bid to strengthen their defensive lineup.
According to The Athletic, the West London club has made an impressive offer of £15 million (approximately ₦15.5 billion) to Ajax for the Nigerian defender.
Bassey, who previously played for Rangers, had a decent debut season with the Dutch giants, making 39 appearances.
His move from Rangers to Ajax last summer, costing £20million, established him as the most expensive Nigerian defender in history.
Although he still has four years remaining on his current contract with Ajax, he is believed to be available for transfer during this summer’s transfer window.

Bayern Munich’s Sadio Mane is currently engaged in negotiations for a potential transfer to Al Nassr, the Saudi Pro League team Christiano Ronaldo is playing for.
As reported by the Athletic, a representative from the Roof agency, responsible for handling Mane’s affairs, held discussions with Al Nassr’s sporting director, Goran Vucevic, at the Pine Cliffs hotel in Portugal to explore the possibility of the move.

Nigeria’s Super Eagles have remained unmoved in the July edition of the FIFA Coca-Cola Men’s Ranking to remain as the world’s 39th team.
In the ranking table published on the website of the world football governing body on Thursday, Nigeria still maintained the 1486.48 points it had in June.
The stagnancy on a spot was also seen at the continental level as the Nigerian side still maintained the sixth spot behind Morroco, Senegal, Tunisia, Algeria, and Egypt respectively.
