Kano state government has stated that qualified persons with disabilities (PwDs) will benefit from the state’s overseas scholarship programme.
Umar Doguwa, the state commissioner for education, while briefing journalists in Kano said the overseas scholarship scheme recently re-introduced will help improve the quality of life for PwDs, as long as they meet the requirements.
The commissioner said the development was part of a design by the state to ensure fairness and equal access to education for every indigene of the state, especially PwDs.
“We will surely offer scholarships to those with first-class and second-class upper degrees, including those with disabilities to encourage them to become productive citizens and live meaningful lives,” he said.
