Ramatu Garba, Kano The Kano State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) in collaboration with the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) have worked out flood mitigation strategy to avert the disaster. It will be recalled that the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMET) predicted flooding in many states including Kano this rainy season. Abbas Bamalli, Katsina An NGO, Dahiru Mangal Foundation has carried out a five-day medical outreach where over 500 vulnerable people were treated of various ailments and given free drugs. Malam Hussaini Kabir, a member of the foundation’s Board of Trustees (BoT), said on Saturday, at the General Hospital Katsina, during the outreach, that it was for the second quarter of the year. Umar Idris Shuaibu – Kano The surgical team of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) supported the State Specialist Hospital of Maiduguri in performing lifesaving surgeries and in providing emergency treatment for people who were critically injured during the blasts in the town of Gwoza in the north-east. 41 patients, including children and women, arrived in Maiduguri Hospital between Saturday and Sunday, some continue to receive the needed care.
