Troops of Operation Safe Haven (OPSH), a military task force maintaining peace in Plateau and parts of Bauchi and Kaduna States, have arrested 17 suspects over alleged murder, kidnapping, armed robbery and other criminal acts. The Kano State Government has dragged the Federal Government before a Kano High Court over what it described as harassment and intimidation of the state Anti-corruption Commission (PCACC) by three federal agencies. Adamawa government has procured 10 buses worth N1,060 billion to address the cost of transportation as a result of fuel subsidy removal. Alhaji Auwal Tukur, Chairman, Palliative Coordination and Distribution Committee, who disclosed this while briefing newsmen in Yola on Monday, said that each bus cost about N106 million. Tukur, who is the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), said the buses would help to address the challenges faced by civil servants, students and the general public in the payment of transportation fares. The Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) says it has disbursed N550 million to the Kaduna State College of Education, Gidan Waya, for the purpose of addressing insecurity. The State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) has said that flood has destroyed at least 700 houses and farmlands in Cheledi Community, Kirfi Local Government Area of Bauchi State. The Gombe State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), on Monday said that the palliatives distributed by the state government were not based on political considerations. The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Kaduna State Command , says its operatives have arrested 84 suspects and seized 451.976kg of illicit drugs in Kaduna.
