A public servant, Mr Surajudeen Olasinde, on Monday, narrated how his wife Mrs Mistura, and his two daughters; Hauwa and Fatima, were kidnapped around Galadima District of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja. The National/State Assembly Election Petition Tribunal in Makurdi, has upheld the election of Rep. Solomon Wombo of All Progressives Congress (APC), for the Kastina-Ala/Ukum/Logo Federal Constituency election of Benue. Police at Sabon-Gari in Zaria, Kaduna State have arrested 13 cult and robbery suspects. Acting spokesman of the police in the state, ASP Mansir Hassan stated on Monday in Zaria that the cultists already confessed to be members of “Eiye’’ Confraternity. “They came from different tertiary institutions across the country and chose a part of Zaria as their rendezvous for initiation rituals,’’ he stated. The Kano State Commissioner for Education, Alhaji Umar Haruna, on Monday, suspended two secondary school principals for alleged absenteeism and negligence to duty. The affected principals were those of French Bilingual College and Chinese Bilingual College, Kwankwaso in Madobi Local Government Area. At least 11 people have been killed, while yet to be ascertained number of people are injured and property destroyed in a fresh attack at the Kulben community, Kombun District of Mangu local government area, Plateau State. The FCT wing of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) has initiated an industrial strike action starting from today, September 11. This decision comes in response to the non-payment of 25 months’ worth of arrears and the failure to implement a 40% peculiar allowance by the council chairmen. The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Kaduna State Command, says its operatives have seized 685.179 Kg of illicit drugs and dismantled 13 illicit drug joints in Kaduna. The state Commander, NDLEA, Mr Ibrahim Braji, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), on Sunday that the seizure and dismantling of the joint were made in August.
