Kwara Deputy Governor Kayode Alabi has flagged off measles vaccination campaign for children under the age of five to reduce childhood morbidity and mortality in the state. No fewer than 20 people sustained various degrees of injuries following a tanker explosion at a petrol station in Rigasa area of Kaduna. A Kaduna Chief Magistrates’ Court, on Thursday, ordered that, Mubarak Shuaibu, aged 26, should receive 10 strokes of the cane for stealing eight aluminium windows. Shuaibu, a resident of Ali Akilu Road Kaduna, was convicted after he pleaded guilty to the charge of criminal trespass and stealing. The Kano State Government has constituted a six-member committee to verify teachers that participated in the Teacher Upgraded Programme (TUP). The Nigerian troops on Wednesday night have killed five suspected Boko Haram members and arrested one, a development that echoes jubilation among local residents, who had experienced several attacks from terrorists in the past months.
