A boat carrying more than 100 passengers capsized in the Benue River on Saturday. The passengers, including traders, women, and children, were en route to Binnari town in the Karim-Lamido local government area of Taraba State. According to Daily Trust, most of the passengers were returning from the Mayoreneyo fish market in Ardo-Kola LGA. The publication said that the boat left Mayoreneyo local jetty at about 3.30pm and capsized 40 minutes later, according to sources.
