The Nigerian Educational Loan Fund (NELFUND) has said it would disburse the sum of ₦850m to tertiary institution students today (Wednesday). The landing cost of petrol was N1,117/litre as of Tuesday, July 16, 2024, the Major Energies Marketers Association of Nigeria announced on Wednesday. The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention on Tuesday said as of July 15, it has recorded 3,623 suspected cases of cholera and 103 deaths across 34 states and the Federal Capital Territory as of July 15, 2024. The Lagos State Police Command said it has detained one of its officers who allegedly raped a 17-year-old girl at the Area H Command in the Ogudu area of the state. Two female suicide bombers have been intercepted in connection with the detonation of improvised explosive devices (IEDs) in Gwoza local government area of Borno State on Saturday, authorities said on Sunday.
