The Katsina State Government has announced a ban on all forms of large religious, social and other forms of night gatherings in the state. The National Industrial Court, based in Abuja, has issued a restraining order against the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Trade Union Congress (TUC), and their affiliates, preventing them from engaging in any strike or industrial action. The Borno Government has approved the release of over N73 million for the payment of registration fees for orphans of volunteers who lost their lives while assisting security agencies in the fight against insurgents. The Executive Secretary of the state Scholarship Board, Malam Bala Isa, made this known at a briefing on Friday in Maiduguri. Suspected bandits have unleashed violence in two villages of Gandi District in Rabbah Local Government Area of Sokoto State, resulting in the tragic death of at least 11 individuals within a week. The Appeal Court in Abuja has scheduled Saturday for the adoption in the governorship appeal brought by the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Nentawe Yilwatda, against Governor Caleb Mutfwang of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The Jigawa government has earmarked N360 million for the rehabilitation of 14 schools damaged by wind storm. The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Kaduna Zonal Command said it recorded 522 Road Traffic Crashes (RTCs) from 2021 to 2023 during the ember months in Kaduna State. The Zonal Commanding Officer of FRSC in Kaduna, ACM Godwin Omiko, disclosed this at the occasion of the zone’s ember months sensitisation campaign on Wednesday in Kaduna. Ahead of the Imo governorship election scheduled for Saturday, November 11, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has said there will be no election in polling units without registered voters. INEC has also provided details information on 40 polling units where elections will not take place on Saturday. The Legal Aid Council of Nigeria, Kano State Chapter, said it received 297 cases from January to October in the state. The State Coordinator of the Council, Mr Muhammad Auwal-Kofa, disclosed this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Kano. The Kogi State government has directed all primary, secondary, and tertiary institutions of learning to observe a three-day holiday in preparation for the forthcoming gubernatorial election in the state.
