The Federal Government has denied a report that the Ministry of Petroleum Resources had ordered the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited to sell fuel at ₦1,000 per litre. Hajia Dada, mother of former president of Nigeria, late Umaru Musa Yar’adua, is dead. She reportedly died at the Federal Teaching Hospital, Katsina on Monday evening after a brief illness. Dada was also the mother of late Shehu Musa Yar’adua and Senator Abdulaziz Musa Yar’adua, the current Chairman, the Senate Committee on Army. Kano state government has perfected legal action against proprietors of three private schools for putting lives of hundred innocent students in damage. Executive secretary, Kano state Private and Voluntary Schools Board Alh. The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has again raised the Monetary Policy Rate (MPR), which measures interest rates by 50 basis points, from 26.25% to 26.75% amid soaring inflation and skyrocketing food prices. CBN Governor, Olayemi Cardoso, announced this after the apex bank’s 296th Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meeting in Abuja on Tuesday. The MPC adjusted the asymmetric corridor around the MPR from +100 to -300 to +500 to -100 basis points. The 75-year-old mother of renowned musician Dauda Kahutu Rarara, Hajiya Hauwa Adamu, was released in the early hours of Wednesday morning. Four people have been rescued after a section of a two-storey residential apartment collapsed in Abuja on Saturday morning, with several people trapped in the rubble. The Plateau State Government says 22 persons have died and one hundred and thirty-two persons injured after a school collapsed in the Busa Buji, Jos North Local Government Area of the state.
