An early Monday morning fire outbreak has destroyed not fewer than 50 shops with goods worth millions of naira at a popular plywood market, Rijiyar Lemo in Kano State. The Chairman of the market, Mamuda Musa who confirmed the incident to newsmen in Kano, said the fire outbreak started around 1:30 am. An collision involving a truck and a Mazda bus at Kere Bridge on the Lagos-Abeokuta road killed nine people and injured seven more. Mrs Florence Okpe, spokesperson for the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun, confirmed the event to journalists in Abeokuta on Tuesday.
