Fire has gutted parts of Focus Holiday Inn, a popular hotel in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The fire which reportedly started in the early hours of Wednesday, January 15 2025, was later put out by the combined efforts of staff and good Samaritans from the neighbourhood. Tragedy struck in the Takie area of Ogbomosho, Oyo State, on Tuesday, when a container-laden truck lost control and fell on a commercial tricycle, killing three people. The accident occurred around 9:30 a.m. at Takie Junction. Eyewitnesses reported that the truck lost control while navigating a bend, causing the container it was carrying to topple onto the tricycle. The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), says it has generated N102.5 billion revenues in the Kano/Jigawa Command in 2024. The Comptroller, Dauda Chana said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), on Thursday in Kano.
