A 13-year-old girl , Taiye Ojo, was on Saturday electrocuted to death in her residence in the Makoko area of Yaba, Lagos State. The Federal Government has ordered surveillance patrol of the newly-opened Second Niger Bridge and its surroundings by security agents following a case of vandalism. It was learnt that some hoodlums vandalised a section of the bridge and made away with some fittings. The N336bn bridge was unveiled by former President Muhammadu Buhari in May. Borno State governor, Babagana Umara Zulum has said that his administration has enrolled thousands of out- of – school girls in an ongoing target of admitting 500,000 girls into public primary schools across the state. Malam Imam Galadanci, the in-law to the Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar and the Emir of Bichi, Nasiru Ado Bayero, was buried in Kano on Wednesday. Daily Trust reported that Galadanci’s corpse was brought from London on Tuesday. The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) on Wednesday received another set of stranded Nigerians from Niamey, Niger Republic. Dr Nuraddeen Abdullahi, NEMA Coordinator, Kano Territorial Office, made the disclosure while receiving the returnees at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport in Kano. An Ondo State Magistrates’ Court sitting in Akure, the state capital, has sentenced a man, Friday Okeneji, to two years imprisonment for stealing some chemical substances worth N130,000. The convict, who is a pastor of a popular church in Iwaro Oka Akoko in the Akoko South-West Local Government Area of the state was said to have committed the offence on July 2, 2023, in the town.
