A Federal High Court sitting in Kano has nullified all actions taken by state government after the passage and signing of 2024 Emirates Council Law. The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Dr Folashade Yemi-Esan has said that the verification exercises of the Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System have exposed 1,618 civil servants with ‘fake/illegal’ employment letters. The Kano State Police Command has confirmed the death of Mukhtar Garba Baballiya, a vigilante group leader in Ja’en community, Gwale Local Government Area during a thuggery clash. The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC) has said that a total of 1,141 suspected and 65 confirmed cases of cholera with 30 deaths have been reported from 96 local government areas (LGAs) in 30 States of the Federation.
