An early morning fire outbreak has destroyed part of the Katsina Government House. Credible sources said no lives were lost in the inferno. The fire, which destroyed the governor’s chamber, is also said to have affected parts of the governor’s office. The Kogi State Government has debunked report suggesting that Governor Usman Ododo has dumped the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The Police Command in Benue has confirmed the release of 20 students of the University of Maiduguri and University of Jos kidnapped by gunmen in the north-central State on August 15. A fire outbreak has claimed the lives of three family members of Dr. Yusuf Kofar-Mata, a serving Commissioner for Higher Education, in Kano Dr. Kofar-mata who was said to have narrowly escaped the disaster but lost his daughter, Maimuna, his elder sister Khadija and one Juwairiyya also close relative in the unfortunate incident.
