A Kano State Shari’ah Court has directed controversial TikToker, Murja Ibrahim Kunya, to undergo a psychiatric evaluation at a public hospital. The presiding judge, Nura Yusuf Ahmad gave the order on Tuesday. Nura Yusuf said that during her previous appearance, she was allegedly not in a sound state of mind due to suspected drug influence. The court ordered her to be remanded at Hisba Board custody pending her psychiatric evaluation. It then adjourned the matter to May 20th, 2024. Details soon….

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Kano Area Command, says it has intercepted four trucks of food items as part of efforts to tackle smuggling. This is contained in a statement by the Spokesman of the Service, Saidu Nuradeen, on Tuesday in Kano. Nigeria’s unemployment rate increased significantly in the third quarter of 2023, rising by 0.8% from Q2 2023, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) has said. In its ‘Nigeria Labour Force Survey Q3 2023’ report published on Monday, the NBS said the country’s unemployment rate rose sharply from the 4.2% recorded in Q2 2023 to 5.0% in Q3 2023.
