The authorities of the military hospital at the 44 Army Reference Hospital, Kaduna have shut down the emergency ward, over a suspected outbreak of viral haemorrhagic fever. The Corps Commander, Medical, Brig. Gen. S. O. Four persons have died in Kaduna following the outbreak of acute viral Heamophatric Fever otherwise known as Lassa Fever at the 44 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital in the state capital. Soldiers opened fire, on Thursday, when suspected hoodlums hijacked trailers loaded with foodstuff in the Suleja Area of Niger State. The Trade Union Congress (TUC) has decided to pull out of the planned two-day nationwide protest earlier announced by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC).
